The Lone Huntress: Eleanor Moseman

Lone Huntress Photography Studio is located in the creative epicenter of Dayton, Ohio at Front Street Artist Studios. This is a unique and otherworldly space created by world-traveled, internationally published, and award-winning photographer Eleanor Moseman. She chose Dayton as the place to offer a classical style of photography that remains timeless and appreciated through the fads of social media.
Eleanor Moseman relocated to Dayton, Ohio, from China because of unforeseen circumstances and the world's changing in 2020. She found her sanctuary in a historic commercial building and began establishing herself as a photographer in the area and around the United States.
Eleanor specializes in classical and fine art style portraiture, which stems from her Fine Art training and background going as far back as high school. Her travel experiences, speaking two foreign languages, and a great desire to understand humanity and people allow her to connect with anyone sitting in front of her camera. She strives to bring out the authentic self, creating an experience rather than just a portrait session.
From 2008-2020, Eleanor was based in China and focused on drawing international awareness to the humanitarian issues of persecuted Buddhists in Tibet and Xinjiang's Muslim Uighurs (or Uighur community). As political regimes eradicate these cultures’ traditions and the landscapes change, she is working on creating photographic historical records of an era soon to be gone.
Eleanor is also a noted architecture and interior photographer with assignments that have taken throughout Asia and the United States. She has a BFA in Photography and Film from Virginia Commonwealth University and is a noted architecture and interior photographer with assignments that have taken throughout Asia and the United States.
Her photography has been published in The Guardian, PBS NewsHour, The Atlantic, Nikon: Learn & Explore, The LA Times, and many other international publications. In 2020 her work was exhibited at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington D.C., the Rose-Hulman Institute, and the British Museum in London.
She recently completed a Wilderness Medicine First Responder course to serve Dayton and underserved communities in Asia. She recently finished "the world's most difficult bike race", The Silk Road Mountain Race, as an ultra-endurance cyclist and spends most of her free time on a bike somewhere around the world.
